embassy goes back to 1700's, very large and in a beautiful setting
The reception was held in the huge garden on the embassy grounds which is situated on the gianicolo hill at the top of Rome. The views of the city from here are spectacular. There were hundreds of people attending. The food was modest but they did have a grill set up to cook large steaks of Spanish Cantabrian beef. We did not wait around for this. For cocktails they were serving a Spanish Cava prosecco and a modest Spanish red wine. Was a nice warm evening good for a reception and some lovely views. |
